Skrillex’s MoCap Suit (Fullview for hi-res)
For his 2011 North American Mothership tour, Skrillex utilized inertial motion capture to move computer animations of various creatures on a screen behind him. What made this possible was a full body lycra suit with sensors at key points on his body (elbows, wrists, shoulders, etc.) that picked up his movements and translated them into motion data. Because it’s kinda hard to see the suit in live photos/footage, and because he sometimes wore normal clothes over the suit, I figured I’d draw the full outfit so people could see how it looked.
